Vanna Bartlett
With sketchbook in hand, Vanna Bartlett sets out to capture as much of the nature around her home as she can, whenever she can. The result are paintings (and greeting cards) that allow the viewer to truly relish in nature's bounty.
Artist's statement
My work focuses on the natural world and my interest in the interconnections between plants and animals and their environment. For me, observation is key and I draw and paint from life as much as possible, exploring my native Norfolk with sketchbook in hand. Back in the studio, I work out compositional studies while they are still fresh in my mind and then use field sketches and study drawings to work up the final designs into bold acrylic paintings.
