Green Pebble Autumn 2007 issue
In January
2007, five artists gathered at the King’s Head for a few drinks and
three helpings of chips to discuss the influence of their town, Great
Yarmouth, on their work.
John Kiki arrives first. Originally from Cyprus, he came to Yarmouth to
follow his family who were part of the Cypriot business community in the 50's.
Next to enter the pub is Welsh-born Emrys Parry, who arrived in Yarmouth43
years ago to teach at the Great Yarmouth College of Art and Design.
Katarzyna Coleman, from the East End of London, came to to the town in 1983
through her ex- husband's occupation, while Bridget Heriz, born in Hamburg,
decided to move to Yarmouth in 2002 after a youth spent in Suffolk.
Brüer Tidman, born locally and having worked as an artist and teacher
in other parts of the country, returned to Yarmouth to be close to his family......
