I am known mainly for my dramatic sea and sky paintings but my work is vastly varied and I employ many different media to express my absolute fascination with pattern and decoration, both natural and man-made. I adore strong flavours in food and vivid contrasts in my visual world, so my paintings must always ‘grab the eye’ just as the first page of a book must grasp my attention to be read further.
Adam and Eve was to be the first in a series of biblical watercolours but events after it was finished in 1990 found me changing direction somewhat. Quite a story! (See my website and the Ferini exhibition.)
I am confident that I will return to complete this series at some stage. Meanwhile, I continue to express nature’s stunning surprises in oil glazes, which allow an amazing penetration of light and vibrancy. The Spanish Hibiscus Triptych is my latest flower portrait commission. Artist’s Profile
