Sarah Baddon Price I have practised as an artist since graduating from art college in 1988 firstly in London followed by Edinburgh and from 1996 in Ipswich.
Pursuing a career as an artist has meant juggling my family and home life against creative life in the studio but in one way or another I have always felt that one has enriched the other, with life experience in the most general way being my muse so to speak. My artworks are visual snapshots of particular relationships, experiences, travels; often with the title being suggestive of the source.
As a rule of thumb I try to avoid written descriptions of my creative process as I prefer the artworks to stand up on visual impact alone and thereby allow each viewer his or her own individual translation.
In parallel to the evolution of my personal themes I am happy to undertake commissions. To this end I have worked on a series of family portraits and emotional landscapes where my input is dictated by the necessity to represent individuals as colour and shape within the structure of the painting.
