Seaford Seascape is a 30x30x2 inches canvas print of an original painting by Gill Bustamante. It comes in a white wooden floater frame (frame with slight gap between the canvas and the frame so it appears to ‘float’). The dimensions with the frame are 31.5x31.5 inches. The depth of frame is 2 inches (stands out from the wall by 2 inches) and the width of frame is ½ an inch. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and free gifts from the artist. The canvas was printed with fade resistant ink and has a matte varnish for protection. It can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth if needed.
See video for an example of the frame (not the same print)
Seaford Seascape is a painting of the view from a cliff on the Sussex coast near Seaford. Two kittiwake seagulls fly across the sea and they are significant as this area is where they nest and are protected. The cliffs on the left are painted on thick textured paint to give the feeling of the chalk they are made of and in the background in the distance you can just see the Belle Tout lighthouse. The sea below the cliff is shallow and reflects the colours of the blue and turquoise sky and the coloured sand and rocks below it. The painting was inspired by the first walk I took out during the covid lockdown in March 2020. It was deserted (not sure why as exercise was allowed) and the South Downs path which you can see winding across the top of the cliffs was empty. It was a beautiful clear sunny day and I was torn between loving having it all to myself and wishing others were also there to walk it. I wanted a record of this day and this is it.
