The Way Out is the Way Through is a 30x30x2 inches canvas print of an original painting by Gill Bustamante. It comes in a white wooden floater frame (frame with slight gap between the canvas and the frame so it appears to ‘float’). The dimensions with the frame are 31.5x31.5 inches. The depth of frame is 2 inches (stands out from the wall by 2 inches) and the width of frame is ½ an inch. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and free gifts from the artist. The canvas was printed with fade resistant ink and has a matte varnish for protection. It can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth if needed.

The Way Out is the Way Through is a print of a painting of a dark forest with sunlight shining through the trees and showing a way out. It is intended to be menacing but also hopeful. The symbolism of dark forests is ingrained into humans as a species. Forests have always been both protectors and sources of danger. I painted this painting as I was trying to solve a long-term difficult issue in my own life and this painting seemed to symbolise that effort. The title is actually from a quote by L. Ron Hubbard and it means that in order to resolve stuff, the only effective way is to face the thing and find a way through it, rather than dodge it or hide from it. I like the idea and I like the metaphor that a dark forest provides.
