Cute hand made ceramic wren.
This one-off unique little bird was created by sculpting clay and raku-firing, after which the obvara technique was used to give it its speckled surface. My maker's mark (AS) is impressed on the underside, as shown in the third image. The wren has been finished in bees wax and polished for a gorgeous smooth surface.
The wren is almost life-size: 8 cm (length) x 7.3 (height) x 4.5 cm (width). It nestles in a hand or balances on a flat surface.
