Angus the Pheasant is the ideal countryside companion. He has stunning tweedy plumage, a cheeky expression, and he’s just the right size to sit in your hand for a comforting squeeze. I often see these beautiful birds strutting about the farmers’ fields where I live in Caithness, so I just had to knit one.
This fun and easy pheasant knitting kit is handmade by me, in the Scottish Highlands.
This cute pheasant knit kit contains all the yarn and notions that you need to knit Angus – simply add your own pair of 4mm (UK 8/ US 6) knitting needles, a yarn darning needle and an ordinary sewing needle, and you're ready to go. No need to order all the different yarns and bits and pieces – you can sit back, relax, and start knitting straight away. It's all there for you!

To make Angus, you will need a pair of 4mm knitting needles, a yarn darning needle and an ordinary sewing needle. Knitting needles are not included as many knitters already own a pair, but if you'd like to add knitting needles and darning needles to your kit, you can add these to your kit too for just £2.50/£1.50.
Is Angus easy to knit?
Yes he is, although he does have a little more colour changing mid-row than some of the other knitted birds. He is simply knitted flat on a pair of 4mm (UK 8/ US 6) knitting needles, making him an excellent project for a beginner who knows the basics of knitting: no need to knit in the round.
Basic skills that you need to know: casting on, casting off, stocking stitch, increasing by knitting into the front and back of a stitch (inc 1), decreasing by knitting 2 stitches together (k2tog), changing colour midway through a row. The knitting pattern includes detailed making up instructions and colour photos to help you on your way. Your kit also includes a yarn shade card to help you keep track of all of the lovely colours in Angus's feathers.
All kit and parcel packaging is plastic-free, and recyclable.
